Pierre Schwarzenbach: The Post-Concrete Way

12.05.–10.06.2017

Pierre Schwarzenbach distanced himself artistically from Zurich as well as from the world’s view on Concrete Art. In the course of half of his life in South America and Southern France, he became acquainted with the sensuality of the landscapes enchanted by the light. In his geometric paintings, the artist seeks the depth of the surface by letting the light from the lowest plane shine through to the uppermost painted surface. In doing so, he materializes emotions and breathes a soul into his pictures. He transforms concrete painting into meditative painting, thus creating a poetic constructivism.
