Marko Ladjusic (Marko Lađušić, 1967) is a Serbian painter, sculptor, performance artist, and academic professor. Ladjusic is an active supporter of artistic projects, his works are exhibited in numerous institutions in Serbia and worldwide and can be found in many private art collections. Gallery Thalberg is pleased to introduce this artist to the Swiss audience and presents his current painting practice since 2019.

The exhibition takes place from March 3rd to May 15th, 2025. The title “Layering” refers to Marko Ladjusic’s distinctive style and his precise, thoughtfully applied painting process, which is based on the repeated application and removal of layers of paint. In this process, fine, complex structures emerge from filigree lines, reflecting a transient aesthetic of change and transformation.

The exhibition is accompanied by a comprehensive catalog that explores the unique characteristics of Marco Ladjusic’s art in detail. The catalog includes four texts by renowned, internationally recognized art critics – Natasa Radojevic, Biljana Jotić and Domenico de Chirico. They share their perspectives on Marko Ladjusic’s creative work, offering the audience a deeper insight.
